Welcome to Bahamas Employers Confederation (BECon)

The objects of the Bahamas Employers Confederation (BECon) includes the mandate to be the organization most representative of employers in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas in order to represent employers in The Bahamas on national, regional and global levels. BECon supports the common interest of employers in order to create and promote the best environment for employers, encourages the establishment and maintenance of fair and reasonable employment practices and promotes strict adherence to law and contractual obligations in employer and employee relations.

A Public Policy Essay - The Learning Crisis by Ralph J. Massey addresses the learning crisis in The Bahamas that is evident to anyone who hires labour or who reads the Ministry of Education’s reports on the annual Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education exam.

On the 20th of April, 2009 amendments to the National Insurance Act and its Regulations were enacted bring into force the Unemployment Benefit Program. For more informatin on this new program read the 11th May, 2009 BECon News Bulletin.
