The Coalition for Education Reform
The Coalition for Education Reform is a group of business, professional and labour associations that recognizes Human Capital as a critical resource. Coalition of Private Sector Organizations
The first TRIFOR was launched in March of 2000 when the Prime Minister introduced five bills that were called a "compendium of labour legislation". Shortly thereafter BECon formed the Coalition of Private Sector Organizations as an ad hoc group to broaden the involvement of the business community in reviewing labour legislation and dialoging with Government.

The current labour laws of The Bahamas include the Employment Act, 2001; the Fair Labour Standards (Exceptions) Order as subsidiary legislation to the Employment Act; the Minimum Wages Act, 2002; the Health and Safety at Work Act, 2002; and, the Industrial Relations Act.

Fair Labour Standards Act Repealed (PDF Format)
The Fair Labour Standards Act was repealed by the coming into force of the Employment Act, 2001. However, with the Fair Labour Standards (Exceptions) Order being statutorily attached to the Employment Act, this repealed Act is needed to map the specific exceptions contained in the Exceptions Order.

T.V. Arnett Tribute Page August 2006
Torquil Vernal Arnett, born 18th of March 1924 - died 5th of August 2006, was involved in BECon for four decades. He was a Past President and served twice as Executive Director for a total of twenty-five years. May his Soul Rest in Peace.

Tribute to Reginald H. Lobosky May 2004
Mr. Reginald Lobosky was a past president and Director of BECon when he passed away on Easter Sunday, the 11th of April, 2004. He was a loyal supporter, consultant and advocate of BECon and the preeminent labour attorney in the country. Tribute was paid to him in BECon's News Bulletin of the 16th of May, 2004. International Labour Organization (ILO) - Programs & Workshops
The ILO, founded in 1919, became the first specialized agency of the United Nations in 1946. It is the only 'tripartite' UN agency that brings together governments, employers and workers. It is the global body responsible for drawing up and overseeing international labour standards. TRIFOR Conference Held on The 22nd of October, 2007
TRIFOR (a contraction of TRIpartite FORum) was relaunched by the forming of a National Tripartite Committee of employer representatives, worker representatives, and government on the 9th of August, 2007. An all day TRIFOR Conference was held in October of 2007.
